2009 Resolutions

I like how my idiotic posts will stay alive as long as the internet does. Sometimes I'll go to my old Xanga account and curse myself for being so dumb. I always think that what if these are still up when I'm old and have kids? I will never willingly delete any of my accounts.

So anyways, I looked at a post I did a year ago about my resolutions for the coming year, entitled "2009." Some things I did, some I did not.

-ride my bike everywhere
at least enough so that i'm not sweating balls every time i ride up turk

I did this. At least up until I had a bike. In the summer I was able to ride up Turk on a fixed gear. BUT I didn't really do it that often because it sucked. I haven't had a bike all semester though.

-save money for Japan
this is going to be hard since i don't have any money to save in the first place and i want to buy so many things, but every penny counts

I did this. Although I am still trying to recuperate my accounts from Japan, before going, I was the most frugal person in SF. This is where I began my unhealthy obsession with 99cent pastaroni and hamburger helper.

-stop stealing
this is also going to be difficult. i need to get a new job. or flog myself every time i commit this ILLEGAL and IMMORAL act. somebody help me with this.

I did this. I haven't stolen anything all year I think. Despite peer pressure from many people.

-grow a sick mustache
i already know that this is possible

I don't know what I was thinking. It is impossible for me to grow mustache. It will never get beyond the pre-pubescent 13 year old boy, thin, barely noticeable stage.

-learn how to cook
i'm kind of getting tired of spam and sardines

Oh man, can I cook now! I rarely eat out anymore. I mean, I can't really make things from scratch but come on. Pastaroni and tuna. Siiick three egg omelets. Blocks of tofu. And I still make the best saimen.

-play a shit load of music
seriously, when am i ever again going to live in a house with legit beat factory and like a hundred guitars and foam and shit on the walls?!

I play my ukulele everyday. Every couple of days I'll bust out some something cool on the synth. And at least once a week, Lemon Party goes to the practice space. Hopefully, in the summer, we'll all go to Portland and record some stuff.

-do hella good in school (go to all my classes, do all the readings, etc.)
i have a class on friday so i don't know if i'll be able to do this but i will try my hardest

I did pretty good in the spring semester. Got good grades, whatevers. But this semester was pretty hard with everything going on. I can honestly say that even though this past semester was the busiest, it was also the laziest in terms of doing school work.

-do some community service
ugh. i hate community service. but i gotta do some for my scholarship and last years "helped in luau" was total bullshit. i was thinking something with kids. anything but middle/high schoolers.

I didn't do this. I ended up helping for the luau and that is what I will probably do this year as well.

Dumb resolutions that require no follow up:

-clean the house more
because no one else is going to do it.

-play the shit out of my xbox live account
try to pwn at least 5 bitches/newbs a day
