First time I have internet at a place that I'm staying at

8/03

So I did end up doing something worth telling people today. After spending a couple of hours in the computer labs after class, I decided to go to Akihabara. For those of you remember, that's where I stayed for a couple of nights in the Capsule Hostel last time I was here in March. I hadn't been there yet and had nothing else to do so I decided to go. I think that it's my most favorite place to go in Tokyo. I think I was there for almost 6 hours? And I didn't even spend any money! I can guarentee say that if I grew up in Tokyo, Akihabara would be my spot. Wait nevermind, I spent money at the arcade. Uhh anyways, Akihabara is very stereotypical Japan and full of otakus, basically nerdy kids. Otaku used to be more specific and derrogatory but now I think it just refers to someone who is way way way into their hobby? The most common and well known are anime, manga, video games, computers, but there are also photography otakus and whatever other things you can pull out of your ass because that's what I just did for the photography otaku (I noticed that I've been referring to asses in almost every entry and I know that I should stop.) I spent some time at the Taito arcade playing Street Fighter and watching other people. I have seriously never seen anyone do anything as fast as when these people play music games. I was just going to make some dumb joke involving speed and asses but I restrained myself. After that, I spent a majority of my time in Yodabashi Camera. It's an 8 story electronics store. Think of any electronic device and they have it in 10 different colors. Played with almost every camera they had for a couple of hours and then went to the floor with musical instruments and annoyed people on the keyboard for another couple of hours. So fun! I wanna go there everyday after school. I almost bought a lot of things but realized that I could always get it online for possibly cheaper. I'm trying not to make the same mistakes that I made last time I was here and buy everything in sight. After leaving Yodabashi, I went to the stand up sushi place that I used to frequent when I was here last time. It was the first time that I had sushi here and boy was it worth it! I like it because, since it's a stand up place, a lot of different kinds of people come in and out. I guess I feel more like a real native, eating shoulder to shoulder and yelling out my order to the sushi chef. I would not mind getting into the routine of hanging out in Akiba and eating sushi before leaving.

Since I said what I listen to to fall asleep, I might as well tell you what I like to listen to while I'm on the train. Perfect in transit music = Los Campesinos! and Foals. They just make you want to tap your finger or bob your head or whistle while walking. Go listen to them. Maybe I'll try to put a music player on here like how Kevin does. I'm tired now. Good night.

Maybe I'll use my macro lense tomorrow.

  2. Hey! Aren't you staying at those traditional inns? Why don't you take any pictures of the place/your room/etc.?!?
