The Drive

Out of over 700 pictures that I took, 390 were from the drive to and from Portland. I would just stick my arm out of the window and take as many pictures for as long as my finger was on the button. Despite each trip both ways taking over 10 hours, it was really fun. Just Kevin, Hank and I with two ipods. It was perfect. My first time driving for that long and I already want to do it again.

And just adding to the super funness that was going on inside the car, the scenery was fucking awesome, especially when we got into Oregon. The trees go on for what seems like forever. And at night, I don't think I've ever seen so many stars in the sky. Oregon is the first place that matches Hawaii in best places to stare out of a car window. Serious.

Also, we got caught in traffic for a while and I attempted to pee into an empty water bottle. It's not as easy as it sounds. It's actually very hard to do in the front seat of a car. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I decided to throw all the driving pictures into a video with the song "I'll be loving you" by King Khan and the BBQ Show. It kind of gets boring, so just imagine all the shenanigans that was going on inside the car.

And what the hell, you might as well watch the only other video that I have on vimeo too. It's not like you weren't going to do that anyways right? Tsukiji, Ginza and Kite Museum on some Tuesday in March of 2009.

  1. aw jacob that actually makes a really beautiful little stop motion movie there. i have done that drive more times than i can count (at least the first half before I-5 splits into I-5 and 97 in Weed), and it does get really scenic once you're almost out of california. always a better roadtrip when you have friends in the car though. anyway, awesome video/slideshow.
