Went to the Presidio for the reception of the new exhibit that I've helped put on.
Ya, I've played with almost everything on display. The flag is pretty cool, it's from a kamikaze pilot.
I was there for a couple of hours and helped to internee things. I got a sick name tag and my name is on the contributors plaque.
After that I went back to Japan Town to meet hang out with fellow Japan Student Association dudes. We ate at this place called "On the Bridge". It was pretty cool as all the food was pretty authentic and they have manga and movies for you to occupy your time with if you don't want to socialize. They also have mega spicy curry which is what Nori-san got. The spicyness goes all the way up to 14 but as a precaution, the highest that a new comer can order is 3. The waitress was telling us that before when they didn't have this spicy virgin limit, people would leave without paying because it was too spice for them to handle. So now you basically have to befriend the people there to let them let you eat subsequently spicier curry. 3 was fucking hot. Nori-san said he usually gets the hottest curry available in Japan and he was dying. Seriously, first bite and he was sweating balls. I helped him out and took two bites and my tongue became numb. I can't imagine anything being more spicy than that curry yet it goes all the way up to 14. The waitress was also saying that one time this guy who was eating level 10 curry almost passed out a bunch of times and his friends had to go buy him milk so he wouldn't burst into flames.
If only he knew hot spicy that curry was going to be.
Even with his half of his lipped burned off, he still kept saying that it was delicious.

After that we went to the Embarcadero Theater where the International Animation Festival was taking place. We watched Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai. It was like an anime documentary of Musashi Miyamoto, a fucking badass duel sword wielding samurai. The anime parts were done by Mamoru Oshii, the guy who did Ghost in a Shell. It was pretty good but it would have been better if the whole film was done in anime style. Most of the time there's this little 3d looking dude explaining shit about the times and stuff. It was too educational for me and I just wanted to watch samurai fights.
Going home. Hank, Nori and Melanie.
always with the faces
