Hmmm, I haven't written anything in a couple of days. Mainly because I've been so busy doing stuff! I actually decided to type something right now just because some things popped into my head. I've only now come to realize why people pay more for accommodations and don't stay at the cheapest place they can find, at least when they're alone that is. I know it is plain common sense but the place where I am staying at now is actually the most expensive place that I've ever stayed at by myself and the nicest. And I hate to say it but I like this place more than other places that I have stayed at. I really feel what I am paying extra for. Like more space or a desk or having the bathroom in the same room or windows.
I really want to talk about all the new people that I have met here but it would take too long as I would be able to ramble on about everyone. I'll just name them instead. Ummm, today I hung out with Nozomi. I met her through Ben. Usually, after classes, I hang out with Minami, Minako and Mo. Recently, with the first two more since Mo seems the most busy out of all of us. In my Japanese Comtemporary Society class, I sit by Yeman(sp?) and Melanie who came together from some university in Virginia. In Japanese History, Besides the three M's that I mentioned, I met Kekoa. He graduated from Kamehameha and goes to school in Connecticut. Classes are normal I guess, not extraordinarily hard or easy. Everyone that I named is really cool.
I guess my Japanese has improved since today I called one of my USF Japanese teachers and she was surprised at my Japanese. She's in Japan right now and I was hoping that we could meet up but something came up so she can not anymore. It seems that when I am alone I speak more Japanese than when I am with my friends. I don't want to jinx it but it seems that I am slowly reaching the goals that I set for myself for this trip. Cool.
*I guess I didn't take any pictures of the nicest place that I stayed at (8/31 edit)
We ate at this super tiny fairy-tale treehouse looking restaurant in Koenji
Nozomi. Look how small that car is!

I like taking pictures like this. Just stick your camera in the little space between the escalators.

Yes I'm cool :D jk. gomen.
ReplyDeleteIt's taken me a while, but I've finally grown accustomed to frugality. When you're sick of double-cheese, there's always tacos.
