Holy. . .

So I've just finished, kinda not really, figuring out where I'm going to stay while I'm in Japan for a month and I've added all up how much it will cost and my eyeballs just fell out of my head.

July 29 - August 5 @ Ryokan Sansuiso in Shinagawa
42,ooo円 = $438

August 5 - August 12 @ Sakura Ryokan in Taito
35,000円 = $365

August 12 - 16, 4 nights @ Taito Ryokan in Ueno
12,000 = $125

For my first 4 nights I'll be staying with my friend in Kyoto. And hopefully for the next 5 nights I'll be able to stay with Ben in his dorm. And I still haven't found a place for my last 3 nights. I'll probably capsule it and stay a night at the airport. But for the 18 or something nights that I've made reservations for, the total comes out to $928. Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cubed. Already my ticket was a little over $1,100; over my budget of $1000. My accommodations that I've set up though, still comes out cheaper than the dorm options that the school provided MOTHER. AND I'll be staying in Japanese style rooms with tatami mats and futons instead of mattresses and western floors (carpet?). It's where I wanted to stay at the last time I went to Japan but procrastinated too much and couldn't reserve them in time (I thought a day in advance would be enough). So it should be fun. But the money!? Tomorrow I'll scour through my things and look for stuff to sell. Then I'll go through every garbage and recycle bin to looks for cans and bottles. THEN I'll go around the whole city and gather all the cardboard I can find and redeem it for how ever much all the cardboard in the city can get you. Anything honest/moral/legal so that I can eat delicious sushi 31 out of the 31 days that I'll be in Japan.
