A poll current on Cnn.com

Should anti-addiction medication be a standard part of alcoholism treatment?
Yes - 82% 80437
No - 18% 17933

This poll and news about the drug that the poll is talking about piss me off. First of all, I have never been addicted to any drugs so I don't know first hand how powerful the addiction is. All I know is what I see on tv.

Why can't these addicts just rely on simple will power to stop? To use a another substance to assist in addiction does not make any sense to me. I guess what makes me mad is the poll. I said no. Only a quarter of the people said no. It's like these people take drugs. They get addicted. They want to quit and go to rehab. They get anti-addiction medicine that "block release of brain chemicals linked to pleasure, excitement." Okay, they're fine now. NO. That's bullshit. The struggle of trying to get clean and detox and all that shit should be something that makes their sobriety that much better. They should earn their clean life. If they relapse then, too bad. People don't give themselves enough credit to what they are capable of doing. Treat drugs with more drugs. People don't need them. It's just so stupid.

Second, I have not loss my job and I do not own a house that is being foreclosed so one might say that my opinion does not matter but fuck man.

Ok. People are protesting the bail out. There are a shit ton of reasons why people are angry. And I don't want to talk about that. Maybe it's because I really only use CNN to get my news but, I hate how no one puts the blame on themselves for the shitty economy. People forget that this is not the first time that the economy has been shitty in America. It's like every decade has it's own recession. And this shit happens, yet people don't learn from it at all. After the recessions usually come growth. Like a lot of growth. More growth than before the recession. All driven by capitalism, materialism, consumerism, all that good shit. Then things get shitty again and who do people blame? The government. I feel like a lot of the blame has to be put on the people. Can you believe that people are criticizing the government for not regulating more the loan and mortgage bullshit that got the economy like this now. I mean, I know that it's not like the government is all innocent and free from sin but the people are as much to blame as the government for spending sooo much. They put themselves where they are now.

If I learned anything from being a history major it's that people don't change, they don't learn from past mistakes. Everything is so cyclical and they all live in the now.
